Let's see

I'm so behind on my blogging... and there are so many topics that have been knocking around in my head waiting to come out. But time is short and it's busy busy busy at the -L- residence. Or the -L- secret lair, if you prefer the comic theme.

Speaking of which, I can't quite recommend doing a search for gay comic book characters (what with having come across a few not-so-appropriate ones myself), but Northstar seems like a good upstanding kid, and the first out character in comics, from what I read.

Now, if only Marvel wants to license me as a gay super hero... my Mormon powers could do the universe a lot of good, I'd say.

I worked up a plot outline for a comic book series called Mormon X, which would feature a young BYU student named Ben who is struggling to overcome his mutant tendencies. Sadly, Marvel doesn't accept unsolicited submissions.

Those bigots. Figures.

If I was a big time comic book maker, I would definitely take your stories and the make them into reality! Northstar, the superhero, is a great idea! He should give it to the church and they could put it in the Friend, New Era, or something.

I think you'd be a killer super hero.

Unrelated, but you're invited to read my blog post of 7/9.

What's the point? I've never been a comic super hero fan. Wait, I do remember wanting to be the Green Lantern when I was little. There was something incredible about the powerful ring. Maybe that's why I like flashy jewelry.

Having been an X-Men geek most of my life (phew, it kind of feels good to get that out of the closet), I've had myriads of ideas for Marvel comic books. One of my favorites is Queerbait (about a gay, celibate Mormon -- but, he's kind of an assassin)...

I don't think the New Era or Ensign would really go for it... pity.

I've always been a fan of superheroes and comics and the like. It's that childhood desire to be something special and to be able to do something with what you have. And the not-so-childhood desire that grows out of it. *sigh*

btw, Northstar is Canadian! see we are a progressive people in the great snowy white north.

So... what is your super power?

Super power? Man, I guess I didn't think the super hero through all the way. Hmmm... I'll have to develop one.

Ooo.. I know! Changing. That's a good one. Maybe not changing into ice or fire or a winged spider with x-ray vision, but still.

You mean like changing your clothes? Cause, um, my mom doesn't let me read that kind of comic book.
